Thinking about running a picatinny rail on a 18.5” Barrett 6.5. Anybody compared the talley vs the Leupold backcountry.? I’ve been using talleys on my other two Barrett’s and have never tried the rail. Plan on buying a nightforce nxs or shv for this rifle. Also has anyone tried the ken Farrell aluminum low rings with this setup?

I haven’t yet but am looking at those rings as well. I do have an extra Talley rail if you need one.

Here’s a follow up for those interested. Had to trim the front of the rail with a mill to get the Farrell lows to work. I expect a slightly higher ring would work with no milling/trimming.

If you’re still interested in the height, I just ordered the same setup. Based on information I found available online, height from top of the action to bottom of the scope - 0.525” and from top of the action to middle of scope 1.115”.

This is a difference of 0.125” compared to 30mm Talley LW Lows.
