Barrett Fieldcraft and Swaro Z8i scope - which rings?

Hope someone can help me out?

I’m awaiting a Barrett Fieldcraft 30-06, and want to put a 3,5-28x50 Swaro Z8i on it. Which ring height for Talley one piece lightweight mount should I order?

(Deciding when I have the rifle in hand would be easier, but I don’t have it yet. Customs and lisence takes its time, so I want to get the mount and stuff beforehand as I have a hunt coming up and won’t have time for any mucking around.)

I think the low 30mm would be fine as the objective is quite far forward being a long scope, but I’m curious if the bolt will clear the rather big ocular?

Has anyone mounted a Z8i scope on a Barrett Fieldcraft?

Can’t help you on Swaro scopes but my Barrett ‘06 wears a Swfa 3-9. I have several fieldcrafts with Swfa 3-9 or bushnell 3-12Lrhs and bushnell 3-12 Lrtsi. The fixed 6x or 10x SWFA is a nice choice too

I used Medium with my leica Magnus 1.8-12x50 on my FC, but personally I would forget about a scope that heavy and bulky.
It throws the weight and balance off when using a heavy scope on a FC in my personal opinion.
Find a good 1” scope and it will be much more enjoyable for hunting purposes.
The FC is a small lightweight rifle, try to keep it that way.
Anyway congrats on a awesome rifle, you will enjoy it.

I’d skip the Talleys, they are known to crack. Get a rail and some Warn Mtn techs

2nd the rail. My FC 6.5 has a rail. I'm much happier. I use the NF medium on mine.
