Barrel Thread Issue on Tikka Roughtech

CA guy here (unfortunately) so no suppressor. However, for Christmas I received my first ever muzzle brake. All the information I have for the rifle (new 6.5 CM Superlite Ember Roughtech) show it is 5/8-24. However my brake (aluminum PVA jet blast) is a little too big! What gives?

I was reading that some Tikka's were false advertised and actually 1/2 threading but I have a Tikka T1x that is supposedly 1/2 threading and the ember is noticeably larger. I don't have a micrometer to measure.

Can anybody give me a hint at what I'm doing wrong. I am not very mechanicaly inclined and I am stumped. I am wanting to think that PVA mislabeled their brake but I highly doubt that.

Was there a small thread adapter in the box?

I purchased this from EuroOptic. Would that make it more likely to be a metric thread?

Yes that model is the m15. I have the same rifle. It also comes with an adapter for 5/8 so you should have that. Take a look at the Area 419 stuff for m15 threaded devices if you don't want to use the adapter.

I don't have access to the box at the moment but I have it in storage. It's possible that in my excitement to pick up the rifle, I missed seeing this. I will have to get to storage soon to check!

Yeah that model definitely comes with an adapter.

Thanks guys! Made a trip to storage and you were correct. Break looks a little big for this rifle but I am excited to see how she shoots!
