Barrel Options for 6.8 Western?

Following up on this thread. Ultimately went with a benchmark 20” barrel for around $800. Just completed the build so haven’t been able to shoot it yet, but hope to get out soon and share results.

Did you end up going with the 20" or 18" barrel? I am building a 6.8 Western as well and went with an 18" Proof barrel 1-7.5 twist. I am running the Thunder Beat 7" suppressor and putting it in an MDT HNT 26 chassis.

Did you guys get these rifles finished? What bbl length, twist, ammo, and FPS are you at?

I’m thinking about chopping my X-Bolt barrel, trying to decide if I can get away with 18”. I’ll definitely go to 20” either way, but would prefer 18” if I can still get ~2650 FPS or better.
