Barrel Crown

So I have a pistol barrel with threads that stick out more than I can for. I am toying with the idea of just cutting the threads off, but I don’t understand how much/if there will be an effect from a lack of barrel crown (or other things you might know that I don’t).

So please help, can I just cut the threads off? Or will the barrel be ruined without some additional work?

You will need to recrown the muzzle otherwise the accuracy will most likely fall off.
