I'll argue about Krieger being the best as I think Bartlein makes a better barrel and so do most of the people who shoot for a living.

I'd use the manufacturer break in recommendations for any rifle barrel. It's only one trip to the range to break the barrel in so why not follow their advice?

I broke my barrel in the way Bartlein recommended and I know it was done right.

I shoot bartleins and kriegers mostly. right now I have 2 lederer barrels at the smith. that's a thousand bucks a year for barrels.

if I can extend the accuracy window by 200 rounds that's a big deal. the trouble is I don't know for sure I am getting 1800 or 1500 till the barrel goes south.

as my smith said 'you got to find seating depth and fire form brass to set up dies any way, why not just do a little break in at the same time?"
at about a dozen shots the barrel will change and definitely clean easier, just about every time.

with my last bartlein I was at 18 and starting to clean after every 5 shots vs every 2, when it went smooth as silk
