I wanted to try out some of this ammo, with the barns TTSX bullet. Just wanted to know has anyone had any problem with this factory ammo in their rifles? I read some bad reviews before but idk if the company fixed all their problems. Would love to hear what you guys think about it and if you had any problems with the ammo not firing or something going wrong with it? I would be deer hunting and bear hunting with it.

Never heard of issue or had any myself.

Never had any issue with it in 7mm-08. You'll probably want to clean your barrel down to bare steel before shooting it. In my kids rifles accuracy was about like factory ammo is, 1.25 to 1.5 inch groups at 100.
Hand loaded with 120 TTSX the rifle did a bit better.

It's been awhile, but in my experience it's excellent factory ammo. Close to listed velocity, very accurate. I believe they are Federal cases and primers.

The TTSX shoots great in 180 gr out of my .300 win mag. I was going to start handloading a couple years ago but the factory shot so well I decided to hold off. Now that I'm interested again the bullets aren't hard to find, but powder and primers are a more difficult to come by.

What he said. Although I’ll add in that my Remington only likes this factory ammo. But it’s consistently .75 moa

I shot the same load and weapon for elk in 2019 and 21. No problem at all. Two shots, two elk first one went about ten feet, second one just dropped. They worked for me. Second Elk was 460 yards.

Great stuff! Took my 1st deer with it. 168gr. .308 Win. Not like I shoot long distance, but seems to be very accurate.

Entry wound at 40yds had like a 6" circle of bloodshot meat all around it! And like a 50-cent piece hole out the other side. I'd guess that 2x2 deer was probably 140-150 Lbs range.

Before putting it in e-Waste... using my rifle my younger brother easily popped an older broken cellphone at 100yds with that load.

You lay your firearm in the dirt, really. do you lay fishing reels in the sand? Come on Dog, you know better than that.

I’ve had good luck with it in my 300wm. Had no problem putting a caribou down at 300 yards in September. Shoots straight out of my Christensen Arms

I think I probably have a few more, but anyway, you get the idea. That mono Barnes is my favorite bullet and factory ammo.

Yes. Shoots great. The older pre Sierra ownership used Ruag brass, and now they use Norma brass. Availability is spotty though.

I can assure you it was laid down carefully. As long as it's laid down carefully and ya won't get dirt in the barrel. It's no big deal.

Besides it's not like they don't get leaned against a rock or bush out in the field, only to slide off into the dirt anyway sometimes. If ever it happens, I ALWAYS make sure to check the bore. When I ws a kid and went to a hunter safety class, they pulled out buncha firearms where person didn't realize they got obstructions in the barrel, so those images are forever burned into my Retinas.

And besides, the take is on the ground already anyway, so not like I'd have been needing the rifle anymore anyway, especially since it was last light.

Fishing reel on the Sand? BLASPHEMY!!! And I ALWAYS make sure to rinse my reel off with fresh water moment I get back home! Have a 1992 Penn 750 SS reel for casting that's continued to work just fine all these years, thank you very much! ;)

Both 150 and 180 grain factory vort-tx ttsx group right about 1 moa coming out of my tikka superlite with a 1:11 twist.

That's more than good enough for me, and you could probably squeeze more accuracy out of the factory ammo with a heavier gun or better shooter sending it.

The terminal performance of the Barnes has been great, no complaints.

Consider dropping down a weight or two from your regular lead bullet. Monolithic bullets need to be pushed fast to work. Also, copper is less dense than lead so a 150 grain monolithic bullet will be about the same size as a 180 grain traditional bullet.

I load the 130 TTSX for my model 70 - it shoots an easy .5”. I came across a box of the Vor-Tx 130TTSX and they shot exactly like my handloads. Same POI, group size - everything. I’ve never had a factory round match my handload perfectly but this one did. Good stuff.
