Fellow 223 big game hunters, I've cooked up a load for my 223 that is shipping a 50gr ttsx @ 3,300 mv. My question is, what's your limit where you would say, I need more gun?

Is it limited to whitetail under 200 yds? Only varmits? Bonus points if you have taken game with the little barnes.

I killed a cow elk with a 53gr TSX out of my 222. Killed them with the 55gr Hornady SP out of the same gun. The Barnes offerings make narrow wound channels so I try to hit some bone.

I've used that round on mule deer and pronghorn. Worked very well. Wouldn't go after bigger game though with it.

Hers a whitetail doe with the 50 ttsx out of a 22-250. Impact was 150 yards and she ran 40 yards.
Hardly what I would consider marginal, hunt with confidence.

In and out... what i like to see. :) I wanted to use them in my 22-250 but it's a 1:14 and they arnt quite where they need to be. I loaded up a dozen for the 223, and they did better there, .5 moa. I want to change to a 1:8 twist in the 22-250, but she's grouping 55gr varmegedons in .27", so gonna leave that barrel alone.

Give the 45gr TSX a try. They work great in a 1:14 and can be pushed over 4K fps.

I have a buddy who has over 20 African species on his place in the Texas hill country. He kills them all with a .223. It’s all he shoots. Factory barrel and 50-55 grain bullets out to 300 yards. Last year he killed young nilgai bull and a sable that had taken to killing other animals. I would run that TTSX out to 300 yards with confidence.

Same as Bugger said try a 45 tsx or a 44 hammer hunter in you 14 twist. Both are excellent pills.
