Ballistic turret tapes

I used autocad to make one that still had all the MOA markers on it. Used calipers to measure my turret and then got the circumference and divided it into the equal segments of the MOAs. This way I can still see my normal markers in case I need in between shots. Worked great and everything lined up. I switched loads so I need to redo it. Just taped it on with clear tape.

AM hunter - that’s almost exactly how I do it. FWIW, If you print the yardage number as you have but leave out the red tick/line, you can draw that in by hand with a fine sharpie. Just wipes off with alcohol. That way you can use the same turret tape and make any small adjustments to the yardage for changes in DA by just re-doing the sharpie tick.

I have been using the precision turret stickers with good success, I did put a strip of clear packing tape on top of them.View attachment 861865View attachment 861866
I used some of these as my first go at yardage stickers. They work fine. After a few days elk hunting a couple of them were boogered up a bit and risked falling off. I'd say if someone uses them they might want to add some clear tape or something over them.

I've since gone to the Backfire ones. I like them better. They're larger and stick to more surface area. They come with a clear sticker tape to go over them. I have had trouble with the tape wanting to come off at the end where it terminates. So I added a tiny dab of glue. The clear tape doesn't look as pretty as I think it should. You get a little air around each sticker. But it works.

Also a bonus for MILS:

it’s approx 1/10 mill for each 10 yards from about 300+ for typical cartridges, until you get past 1000. At either end it’s slightly off of that, but if you have every 50 yards marked on the turret you only need to adjust 2/10ths to dial to any range rounded to the nearest 10 yards. If the range is 580, you spin the turret to 600 and then down 2 10ths.

Any error in the 10yards=1/10th is small enough it doesn’t show up in the data.

You could do the same dialing up/down from even hundreds but you may be off a tenth or two here or there.

Not a bad idea. I just make multiple ones for different DA's
