Ball head that is as good for panning?

Hi, is there a ball head that works as well or close to a pan head? Trying to keep the overall length of set up short. Seems the pan heads are longer.

Mostly binos but I have 50 Nikon ED I use to confirm from time to time but not glass.

I have a nice sirui head but the one i've switched to and used exclusively for a few years is the field optics research fbh-30d. It has a little knob you can loosen just to pan. It works great for me even with a big scope. It's a great price as well. When you loosen the knob to pan, with a heavy scope it will drop the image by a few degrees, but it's not a big deal. Still very functional to grid a landscape.
