Damn! You're right. I used a search engine to locate a nonlead .300win cartridge with high fps but it directed me to the ELD-X instead of the GMX I should have bought. Arrggg. Classic noob goof. Told ya I didn't know chit.

I cannot seem to locate any lead free ammo for my WM except for Buffalo Boar which runs $70+/Box. Don't want WSM or a lighter bullet. Is there another?

Barnes loads a few. The Vor-tx line. Looks like it's reasonable priced for factory ammo.

Looks like 180gr is gonna hafta do. Thanks...found it on cheaperthandirt.com. FPS is excellent.

I think this is about the highest BC unleaded bullet you can get factory loaded.

Look into hammer bullets. They are fairly new and pricey but look interesting. 200 gn. + for 308 cal with a good bc. Just another option.

Thanks guys. Guess my rifle isn't crazy heavy after all, appreciate the link Yotekiller. Got the rifle sighted Friday and am good at 100, 200 and 300 yards, now to work on 400-600. 600 yards is a long range shot for me and even with the new Nightforce scope it's a tiny target. What kinda magnification are you using to shoot 1000 yards plus accurately?

For longer range I like the 5.5x22x56 NXS Have a new 270WSM that scope is sitting on and plan to start breaking the barrel in and getting it sighted this weekend. Finally got enough rain (5" in the last week at my place) to start shooting again-
