Baited Black Bear hunt w/ a 13 year old- Recommendation?

I'm in NE Ohio and plan on doing a hunt in spring of 2027 with my 13 year old. Would like to do a high percentage hunt and possibly some walleye/ pike fishing during the day.

Any good recommendations? Could stay domestic, but I'd think a southern Ontario hunt would work too.

Ever thought of coming to Alberta? We have nearly 100% success, good bears, wall tents, good food and safe blinds, stands and such for youth hunting experiences... A flight isnt too bad and we can arrange taxidermy and international shipping.. Good luck either way.

Got a response, I guess you have to be 16 to hunt in Ontario? Seems odd, but ok

To make it high percentage you need hounds or an established bait. Bear baiting in the spring does not just mean throwing some random bait out and sitting on it.

Northern Idaho is where I’d go. Tags are cheap and you can get 2x tags.

Maine, or ontario. It's as close to a sure thing as you can get. $3000 for a 150lb bear is pretty standard
Maine season starts in august, any weapon. Could possibly squeeze it in as an end of summer and take no time off of school/sports.
