Will be hunting the first week of September next your out of Kotzebue. I have 2 sleeping bags: (1) 15 degree down and (2) Minus 20 synthetic. The Down is light and easy to pack. The synthetic, not so much. Which one would you guys recommend me taking? As always, I appreciate everyone's insights and experiences! Thanks!

I've taken my Kifaru 20 degree Slick Bag on all my AK trips and liked that bag for drying layers out at night.

I don't own a down bag, just some down blankets. I don't have experience with down bags to compare to the Kifaru, I just know it has served me well.

you can always boost a bags rating by changing what you wear when you sleep. If you have a puffy jacket and puffy pants that you're already bringing, you could easily get by with the 15degree bag.

My 40 degree down bag gets me easily under 30* if I use a fleece liner in it
