6.5cm Tikka superlight, 19" barrel, Airlock ZG6.5, Peak 44 Blacktooth stock (requires bedding!), SWFA 3-15x Gen 2, UM rings, and aluminum bottom metal (also bedded). 7lb 11.4oz with sling. Perfect for mountain hunting and its a real tack driver with 143 ELDX at 2630ish fps.

What do you think of the Recoil X? Is it worth the weight penalty on a hunting rig?

They definitely make a difference, slighty louder. But the recoil impulse helps stay on target. To me its worth it.

Putting this one here in this tikka build thread rather than the other one because it tickles my sense of irony to put it in the long range forum.
This was the result of a backpack hunt here in the east where my brother and I questioned how light we could realistically make a tikka as an all-weather tracking rifle, without cutting any corners on reliability. This is my answer to that question.

T3x action, oem .308win superlight barrel cut to 18”, high desert bottom metal, stockys carbon sporter bedded, sportsmatch rings. It’ll go back and forth between bare muzzle and enticer s-ti depending on where its hunting…so far poi has been very close. I have a 3-9 and this 1-6 Trijicon hurons for it, 3x gets kinda tight field of view where this’ll see a lot of its use so Im leaning toward using the 1-6.
6lb 12oz with the 3-9
6lb 14oz with the 1-6
(Un-suppressed, add 8oz)

Been practicing with hornady custom lite reduced recoil loads which are +\- the equivalent of a 6.5cm recoil-wise. Havent even tried any other ammo in it yet. Probably will hunt with the factory 130gr ttsx load.

Nice looking rifle. While being new, what are you thoughts on the stock? What is the weight?
