Backup bow question

Just heard a guy mention his hunting bow was 70lbs and his backup was 60lbs. He used his backup for 3D and liked having both weights. Curious how common that was. ??

Thought I would jump on an old thread rather than start a new one... :)

Backup bow: Exact same draw weight as your current bow, or do you drop 5-10lbs of draw weight?

Mines the same weight, both bows shoot the same arrows, same weight broadheads at damn near the same speed.

So the real bow junky has two hunting bows (mirror images) and then separate additional bows for 3D, leagues, etc. eh? :)

Just depends. At one point in time, my primary bow was 70 lbs and my back up was the previous year's bow at 80 lbs. Both hunting bows now are 70 lbs.

My back-up bow is a mirrored image of my primary....excluding the quiver and stabilizer which I transfer if needed. When it's needed, it's an easy transition on the hunt with no "differences" felt.
