Backpack selection Tips

Im in the market for a backcountry bag to be used archery hunting elk, deer, and various other game. I'm a big guy at 6'4", 325lb, 40" waist, and 36" inseam. What should I look for in selecting a bag? How can I check for a good fit before I dump money into one?

I am 6’5” 255 - i have gone through a lot of packs and finally settled on Kuiu. It was tough finding one that fit me well because I am so tall. I picked mine up in 2019 and I love it. They redesigned their bags and suspension and they fit and feel great. Even under a heavy load. There is a bag review on one of these forums where they evaluate and score several of the top packs (stone glacier, Kifaru, exo, mystery ranch etc) and the Kuiu had one of the highest scores. I have the 3600 and the 7800 bags. Easy to swap out.

Kifaru can make the tactical frame in 28”, that might be something to look into.
