That’s pretty cool, I’ve always thought those things were the best way to pack a rod into the backcountry but as mentioned, they are generally terrible for actual fishing.

I used to have an expensive Daiwa telescoping rod. I loved it. I would use it for fishing 20ft from the truck. Got smashed on a dock in the UP when I got caught up in a storm solo canoeing a few years ago. Would love to replace it, but a 100$+ rod just hasn't been a priority in my life since then.
