And here I thought this was going to be a powdered beer thread...... LOL.
I'm cheap, never have climbed on board the hoity toity wilderness athlete wagon. About the only electrolytes I replenish come from Power-Aid, jerky and the gummy vitamins I pack. And as for the sugar in powders, bring it on. I need energy and sugar is energy. So are the cliff bar, pay-days, snickers, jolly ranchers and tootsie rolls I carry. Sure we can go into all the pro/cons of this sugar type and that, but in the end it all gets burned and comes out the same hole.
Aside from Power-aid, I carry the sugared kool-aid singles (hard to find but Walmart carries them), and Crystal-Lite tea singles. And honestly, I wish I could find a real sugar version of Crystal-Lite raspberry/lemonade tea, as the artificial sweeteners give me heartburn.
Oh, and I like the Via coffee pkgs in cold water, and occasionally I'll flip for the Via Iced Coffee pkgs (which are sugared).
Call me cheap, health ignorant, whatever..... but that's what keeps me going.
