What's a good way to enjoy some elk heart in camp.....minimal cook gear if backpacking

Soup/boil? Saute? Or just over fire?

Clean the arteries out, cut an oak board, soak the board in apple cider. Salt pepper garlic and wischesterschier sauce on the heart. Wrap it in bacon. Put the meat on the soaked board. Cook on the grill or mesquite fire for 20-30 min turning the heart atleast 3 times. When it's cooked, eat the oak board and feed the heart to the dogs!! Haha!!!

I've never eaten it in the backcountry, but I would cut it into about three pieces and grill or roast over a fire. There's some pretty cool ultralight grills.

I have wanted to try making a ramen/pho, but have yet to attempt it. That would be a super easy jetboil option. Boil water and dump it on...
