Bought a new laptop with windows 11 Home . My MacBook air is on its last legs and there's some programs I want to run that are windows based. Used apple for the better part of 15 years at least and was ready for a change.
Got an Acer Predator 16" gaming laptop as I'd like to start playing a few games again. Splitting time between my tiny apt and the GF's small condo, I couldn't do a desktop.

I use windows at work but, its been years since I've owned a windows machine.

Is it worth it to move to windows professional ?
Bloatware, apparently its a pretty big thing on this Acer. Is it pretty easy to just remove the unwanted programs?
Antivirus, malware programs that are good?
Any other programs that would be handy?

No need for Pro unless you're in a wired network in my opinion.
I removed all the excess stuff as soon as I turned the new laptop on. Every 6 months or so I back up to a usb drive then do a clean install, which in itself will not install any of the factory bloatware. The back up caveat is that I have a single root folder, under which all my user data is stored. So I just back up "Bobs Docs" folder and all subfolders, makes backups real easy. I change the path for Google Earth places to point to a GE folder there, save my bookmarks there, etc.
