Back Pain Sleeping Pad/System

No. I assumed stuff like this would be heavy and take up too much room. Have you used? Thoughts? It does seem reallyy bulky and adds 3/4 lb. Better than id thought but seems excessive. Guess ill leep it in the back of my mind and check it out next time im in an rei or something. Im hoping i can find something closer to the weight of our current setup.

I love this!! The power of positive thinking!

I do have one and it is more comfortable than just a pad on the ground. I will put one of my pads (XTherm or big brown cot pad) on it depending on where I’m sleeping.

I do live and primarily hunt in the desert where the ground is hard, rocky, and has a lot of pokeys (ex: cactus spines) that can trash pads. The cot does not go with me on hunts where pack weight and space are at a premium. I just suck it up and eat Alleve Back Pain on those hunts.

This is just a comparison photo. XTherm, Helinox One Lite, Slumberjack Tipi.

Like Macintosh, I recall using those 1/2 Thermarest pads BITD with 0 thought about comfort. Hell, I routinely used to sleep with a pad of any type when it wasn't particularly cold out -just throw don a bag directly on the ground.

These days, I use a XTherm + a foam pad as the foam pad allows me to run the air pad at a little lower PSI. Likewise, it provides a backup, which has come in clutch on more than 1 occasion. Take a couple of IBUProfen just before bed, apply some Voltaren to the hip and the occasional edible.

The biggest thing I notice is that the more frequently I camp, there better I sleep when camping. It takes some repetition each summer to get myself comfortable so that by hunting season, I'm sleeping well and comfortable.
