Aziak backcountry lite tripod and Wiser nighthawk clearance issues

I have an Aziak backcountry lite tripod with a Wiser nighthawk panhead.

Great combo other than the handle interferes with the tripod when trying to glass downward.

I know this is a common combination here on the forum, what are you guys doing to deal with this?

Was thinking of just cutting the ring on the tripod to get more range of motion, but interested to see if anyone has any more elegant solutions.

I cut mine, but you could also remove the handle from the Wiser and use the spare knob in its place.
