I was extremely lucky this year and drew a Late Rifle tag in either unit 23 or 10 with only 2 points. I would typically DIY but with the potential in these units and the fact I shouldn't pull either tag for another 10-14 years I'm looking to hire a guide to maximize the tag.

If I draw unit 23 I've got it narrowed down to two guides: Ground Pounders or A3

If I drew Unit 10 I'm uncertain on which to go with. It seems lots of outfitters know this unit very well. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with any of these outfitter in AZ?

I'm considering:

AZDiamondOutfitters
Steve Chappell
Exclusive Pursuit Outfitters
High Point Outfitters
Mogollon Rim Outfitters

I had a great experience in 2013 with Steve Chappel. The Guide he assigned to me was local to the unit I hunted and I couldn’t have asked for a better hunt. Steve was very honest and sincere in everything he told me. I don’t get on here much and don’t have much experience with outfitters but I did a lot of research and there was some great outfitters out there. The reason why I went with Steve goes back to 2010. I contacted him to see what my options were for the points I had and then ended up going to Afghanistan for a year. While deployed Steve sent me everyone of his videos to keep me and my Marines motivated. Whoever you go with I hope you have a great hunt and get a big bull.

If you get 23, I would highly recommend ground pounders. Those dudes put in the work and have great results. If I had unit 10, Chappell or Jay scott would be my choice.

Thank you for your post. I've read nothing but great things about him and he was great to talk as well.

I will most likely use Ground Pounders, their results speak for themselves over the last 5 years they have done very well.

I reached out to Jay and he suggested someone else for that hunt. I'm not sure if he is guiding the late hunt this year.

Add Jason Bond/Bond Trophy Outfitters to that list.

Thank you I will look into them.

Its amazing how many outfitters in AZ have a very good reputation. I've never hired a guide before and was weary about finding one or two good options but it seems like AZ has quite a few solid options especially for the trophy units.

The AZ outfitters are a classy group of people.

I had it narrowed down to 3 different outfits and made my decision. I called the other two, to let them know I appreciate their time and had gone with someone else.

They both told me my guides were great people and I would have a great hunt with them and wished me luck. Neither had to do any of those things but it speaks to their character. I will most likely hunt with them at some point in the future.

Nice to find quality small business owners.

Hopefully you drew that Unit 23 tag. That's an awesome hunt. I had one of my clients put in for that this year, but unfortunately, he didn't draw it. Hopefully you got it, though.

I got the unit 10 tag. But am lucky to get that with just 2 points.

My dad had a unit 10 archery tag last year and he hired Exclusive Pursuit. They were great guys and we had a really good hunt.
