Sunup was foggy so I️ just still-hunted a few hours in it. Clear now asnd glassed best and oldest buck I’ve seen yet. If he forked on his RG2, I’d try to put him in my fry pan. I️ got some long-distance video I’ll try to post later. He’s got a small herd of does and ain’t letting them go. Cold.

Robby when you see tracks where bucks are looking for does such as in your video do you find that a lot of that movement from mature bucks is at night at least in the open areas?

Here is the buck I saw this morning. This was at 10:00 am (I'm still on DST, I don't change till after the hunt or I can't remember when sun comes up and down) so two hours after sunrise; they'd been feeding in the quakies but came out on this little hillside for about 20 minutes before fading back into the cover. Sorry it's not really clear, he was about 800 yards out. If he'd have remembered to grow his RG2, I'd have tried for him. Older buck, could tell by his face, so at least one made it through the winter! Tomorrow is last day.

If there aren't many hunters, I see them in daylight hours- that's why the rut is a pretty special time to hunt. If there's lots of hunters, there aren't many big bucks so it can seem like they are only active at night, but I think they come out at the edges of light during the rut. They still stick pretty close to the cover, but if you hunt the fringes, you'll see them.

Have you guys heard of the ‘Anchor’ app. It’s 5-minute audio broadcasts. Ryan and I️ posted one on the way home and will be using this app to posting quick tips, thoughts and reviews when we are away from our computers. Check it out! Our channel name is ‘Avery Adventures’
