Last week there was a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
2 Muslim men, father and son opened fire on a crowd gathered to celebrate an event of Jewish significance.

They used straight pull shotguns (think semi auto style action but you have to cycle it manually between shots) and a straight pull rifle. Similar to a Blaser R8 action.

They killed 14 people and injured 40. The father was shot dead by police and the son was shot and is under police guard in hospital.

Since covid Australia has had almost unchecked migration. Literally hundreds of thousands of people. 730 000 alone in 2021 according to a quick google search. Few years of this is a big deal in a country of 25 million people.

So after this religiously motivated terror attack what do you think our government is doing?
Yep, rushing in laws to limit how many firearms a person can have and a suite of other possible restrictions and conditions on obtaining and holding a gun licence.

Word on the street is a limit of 4 guns. 4, four, quattro!
Even possibly not allowing you to have a licence for the reason of recreational hunting. That would effectively ban hunting with guns and remove your reason to own guns if you were not into target club shooting.

The shooters were licenced gun owners with registered guns. Now wait for it.......
They were on a watch list for having flown to the Philippines to attend ISIS training.

They were known terrorist affiliates yet nothing was done by any authority.
The laws we already have, if applied would have prevented this attack.

Yet here we are, gun owners being made scapegoats to cover gross government negligence of multiple departments.

Gun owners are essentially being told that we are terrorists.

Terrorists conduct a religiously motivated attack on innocent people.

Govt- "Take all the guns and ban hunting"

Australia just crossed the Rubicon.

How do these people keep getting elected!

Certainly US has been trending this way but enough citizens opposing keeps it manageable for the time being.

Australia, must have a lot of citizens that support this position…. Otherwise why is he still in office, rhetorically.

I’ve said it for years as I’m sure many of us have. Guns are not the problem. It’s a people problem, mental problem, extremist problem. It’s about how much a govt can control people. First step in becoming a communist country is to disarm the people by making them think it’s for their own good and protection. Evil people will always find a way to do evil things.

Our preferential voting system. Our Prime Minister was elected on 30% of the vote.

He's hated by most and seen as abysmal leader.

The overwhelming vibe is that conflicting cultures is the problem, not guns. But they don't care, they have an agenda and were just waiting for the event to allow them to proceed.

The media were basically lynching gun owners before the victim's bodies were cold.

I have a friend who is a Barrister over there. Silk. He is a long gun owner, I can’t tell if he is pro gun or not. Good poker player. He was telling me about the process to get the license and keep one. Painful. He said there was no way he could ever get a handgun, even with his legal knowledge etc. The police have to turn in their duty weapon before they go home. When they come here we shoot pistolas and M4’s.

We would if we weren't a minority and had a 2A.
Gun ownership isn't common here. People freak out when you tell them you have more than 4 guns. They say no one needs that many guns. There was talk that if you leave in a city you should have even less guns because you don't need them like rural people do. Quite communist really. "I'll tell you what you need."

It is the problem

There's a duality to the problem. On one hand, you have a very insular tribe who openly espouses violence and the dehumanization of anyone who is not them...having been invited into another culture who values politeness, civility, and calm rationality to a point of being so manicured it cannot collectively clench its fist in time to protect itself.

Wait, that's the UK.

You guys box kangaroos and launch wars against emus. My bad.

I hear and agree.

The election of governor Mulldomni? from New York - really was enlightening. Enough citizens, read neighbors/peers voted for a declared socialist/Marxist. In the future many will be pissed about the policies he implements and bitch about HIM as in the government official.

When it should be directed towards those citizens who quietly are voting for these types of people around the world.

Australia was on my list of a fascinating place to visit, but if the majority of country is of this belief, It changes my interest level. Already have it here…

Stock pile as many as possible and stash around property. Same with ammo. Buy as much as possible with those willing to sell and will keep quite. Silver and gold right now will be a good barter.
