ATV on a raft trailer?

I'm looking to get an ATV for some work on a couple remote hunting properties. Has anyone experimented with using an ATV on a raft trailer? I have a pretty burly single axle (2200lb, if I recall) trailer built locally that has served me really well on bumpy roads, but an 450 or 700cc ATV is a whole lot more weight than my NRS with a fishing frame, cooler, etc. Would really love avoiding another trailer.

It's difficult to tell without seeing a picture of the deck and frame, but as for the axle, it'll be fine. My atv trailer has a 2,000 lb axle and hauls 2 machines.
