attaching grab-it to bikini

The "rectangular" buckles are called "looploks" and if you look at the top picture I posted you will see the two that the grab-it clips to, at the top of the stays.
I have 3 sets as noted, also as noted, I don't want it attached there, I want it attached higher up. Had the grab-it been made with G hooks rather than 3bars, I could attach it anywhere. Not a flaw nor a complaint, just an observation.

The plan is to create a day hunt setup without using the highcamp bag. I have attached my unused MR load sling and the grab-it to the bikini frame. All my gear for a morning hunt fits in a 19L kayak bag. That bag sits in the load sling and the grab-it is rolled up and unused at the btm of the frame. When brutus gets an arrow thru the vitals, I will drop the kayak bag down and hold it with the grab-it, it will sit sideways and be at the btm of the frame where you would put a sleeping pad for instance. The quarter will then occupy the MR load sling. I have been changing things up a bit last night but I think you get the gist of what I'm trying to do. I have a GenII coming and will probably drop the load sling and use the two Kifaru products.

The Grab-it does have the small side on the btm, it's just rolled up in "transport mode".

Good suggestion. You could always purchase a couple of them.

Looks good Bob, I have a set up very very similar for my wife.... I call it the DT4 haha. Basically just a DT frame, day pouch with the bladder under it, and a mid long under that. I have the grab it attached to the bottom for her, works like a charm.

You've probably tried this already, but if you have just a ghook buckle, you can put the 3bar slider through one of the slots like you would through a looplok, then hook the ghook to one of the webbing tabs where pods/etc. can attach.

I'll see if I can get a pic and post it up.

EDIT:
Well, I tried it. After about 5 minutes of screwing with it, followed by some cussing and a pair of pliers, I have come to the conclusion that you are right and I am not. lol. The damn 3 bar webbing would not go through the ghook. SO... I think if you cut the middle of the ghook to make a field expedient version, then the 3 bar webbing tabs on, then it might work.

As is, no go for me using the 1" 3bars and the waved ghook.

Which of course is what you said in the first place.

I had problems with the Camelbak squirting thru the frame and the grab-it was also too big to get a good cinch on the dry sack so I switched things up. I just used a cpl g-hook lash straps on the dry sack and it's good and solid, but the bladder is just in the wrong spot. I managed to squeeze some water out of the camelbak so I got it replaced and saw a Badlands sitting there. Surprisingly, it's 95oz and fits right in a large belt pouch. I wouldn't trust that thing outside of a container of some sort but it might be ok in the 500d pouch. I attached the bladder up on the frame loop locks and with everything loaded up can barely feel it at the top of my shoulders. I really don't like a bladder squished against the frame at all and I think the bladder might be better if it were mounted horizontally, down at the btm of the frame where the dry sack is. That way you'll never squish it with 100# in the pack.
The Exped is for load simulation, the cargo panel cinches down snug to the frame. I did haul 1/3 of a hay bale with it Sunday and it worked very well.
This setup has everything I need for a day hunt including kill kit, game bags, first aid, etc.
Looking at the pictures again I can see the water is just in the wrong spot, pretty much anywhere I put it.

On the bottom I have it like you do. On top I have it going through the triangle ring right below where you have it in the picture. It works fine for me this way.

This is the way I have it too. Pretty sure I saw Aron post that this is the way it was meant to attach (although I'm sure other configurations work). If I recall, I just stick the three-bar slider through the triangles and it's good to go.

I like the top to the triangle ring better like you suggest. This way I can use the lash strap that came with the grab it and has the plastic split attachment on the end to clip where I currently have the top strap

I like that setup! Have you considered a Kifaru hunting cargo panel?

yea, Aron and I talked about it a cpl years ago. I ended up just getting the highcamp but as I played with it, 4000ci of empty space in a 4800ci bag just bugged me. All things considered though, my original plan of a dry sack in a genII meat bag inside the 4800, then the dry sack dropping down and a quarter going in the genII is probably the simplest way to go. I'm pretty sure I'm just spinning my wheels here. Not really gaining anything of substance.
