Asolo or Salomon for elk hunting

Looking for some help deciding on a new boot for archery elk hunting mid to late september in colorado. I have a pair of good mid-weight insulated boots so I need to get a pair of lightweight uninsulated boots so my feet don't sweat. I will only use them for one hunt each year doing a DIY backpacking hunt so I don't want to break the bank.

I have narrowed it down to the following based on reviews, weight and price.
- Asolo Fugitive GTX
- Asolo Avalon GTX
- Salomon Quest 4D II GTX

I don't have any stores near me that carry these where I could try them on and compare so I think I am going to have to pick one, order it and hope it works? Any pros/cons to those selections for the intended use?

While Asolo boots are good the fit of Salomon to me was way better. My vote is Salomon after having both brands.

I like my Salomon's. Good support (I have really bad ankles) comfortable and, for me, no blisters. Seem to wear well.

My feet like Salomon's until they start leaking.
I usually wait for sales/codes/coupons to buy them because I'm willing to risk the leakage for the comfort.
(plus I elk hunt an area of Wyoming that is usually pretty dry)

I wore some Solomon 3D GTX all of September and first of October this year. Loved them, even packed out an elk and they felt solid. Im sure the 4D's would be just as great but with the addition of ankle support. It was great having a light weight shoe that was also waterproof

Everyone likes Solomon, but they felt like a big boot on me where the Asolo's felt lighter and better. To each his own. Sierra trading post often has both on sale.

I do my training in the Salomon Quests but wore the Asolo Fugitive this past month for an elk trip to CO. I wear a reg width in the Quests but wear a wide in the Fugitives. Really like both boots.

I really love the Fugitives and Asolo Synchros for hunting. But also like the low top Salomons for summer hikes. I vote for both.

I'd like to try the Asolo fugitives but my Sasslongs are still going strong and are on their 4th season. Asolo's and Kennetreks have served me well.

I've been wearing a pair of Salomon X Ultra Mid II GTX daily since July. That included 20 days of bighorn sheep hunting in August (+/- 100mi) and a September WY elk hunt - super comfy and don't leak yet. I have always preferred a light boot unless I'm in serious rocks. I can't say they're going to last a second year but they've done all I expected and I would get another pair. My only Asolo experience is second hand but I've not heard anything bad.

I used the have the Fugitive GTX's. While they are a great boot, the Goretex quickly wore out and the leather shrank and became stiff. They actually shrank enough that my wife wears them now on occasion.

I think if you were hunting in an arid climate without any creek crossings they'd fit the bill, but otherwise I'd have to guess there is a better option.

I went to the Asolo 520 GV's and love them, but they are for sure a heavier boot and your feet will sweat more.

I got a pair of Salomon Quest GTX this year. I alternate boots each day back at camp.
Packed out an elk with them.
- Good support
- Lightweight
- Dry (from hunting back east)
- I generally agree that they may not last as long as a heavier boot
- I like the lacing system to be able to make the ankle tighter than the foot
- The laces do come untied pretty easily without a good knot
- I got them with a nice discount through Promotive
