So I’m doing laps in my living room in all three trying to decide which 1 (or 2) to keep.

Just curious if anyone has had any quality problems with any of the three?

inital order of preference is Renegade, Mtn Trainer, Fugitive based on comfort and what I think will work best for me.

Thanks

My wife had the Lowa Renegades. They were super comfortable but within a year or so with the whole tread became detached and the sole starting flapping. She wears Hanwag now. I first thought it was just an issue with that set of boots since I have had 2 sets of Lowa Tibets and 1 set of Lowa Zephyr Desert boots without an issue but my mom also had a set of Lowa Renegades and the sole became detached as well. So I lost any confidence in the Renegades.

I wore Asolo Fugitives and Asolo FSN 95 over in Afghanistan. The Fugitives are tough boots, the only thing is the hard toe cap can rub your toes raw depending on terrain and the shape of your foot. So it would be something to keep in mind, especially if you are going to be going up and down a lot in them. Plus they don't have the ankle support that a heavier boot like the Lowa Tibet gives you. So I would not recommend them for heavy packs in rough terrain, I used the Tibets more than the asolos whenever I knew I was going to be carrying a lot of weight.

I don't have any experience with the Mtn trainers.

I've had two pair of Salewa Mtn Trainers in the last two years. Both leaked within a week and the soles chunked pretty bad. They are the most comfortable boots I've owned but they leak and only last me a season. I'll be buying another pair for my AZ hiking/hunting boots as soon as I find them on sale for $150.

I have 2 pair of Asolo boots, both outstanding, finally have the Horizons about beat up, they a re 4 or 5 years old and are in better condition than my 7 month old Saloman's.

I have not tried the other two boots but have the lowa renegades and have wore them for work for two years now. There seams are not in a very good spot in the forefoot but for $15 I had a boot repair happen after the first year and they made it another. They are in need of another repair but are going to get retired. The sole looks great on them and no issues so I did not experience what a previous poster had. Good luck I am sure whichever you go with will be great they are all good boot makers

I ended up with the Lowas. The Asolos were way more boot than I needed. I thought I was going to like the Salewas after wearing them around the house but they just didn’t work with my feet once I got them on a trail.

Returned the Asolos but the Salewas are for sale in the classifieds.

i have one more pair to try out. Inno—8 Roclite Pro G should be here thursday.
