I run 2 pairs of Asolo and highly recommend for anyone not accustomed to the brand.

First pair was TPS Equalon GV that I found on clearance in-person at a Sierra store on an insane markdown to $22. probably the best PFP gear deal I have ever found. I have used them in the Appalachians for turkey/whitetail about 5 years and still going strong.

2nd pair is the Hunter GVs that used to be offered on the Sierra website, I think they are disco now. I have only used them for NM Aoudad but they didn't need much/any break-in and are great so far.

Overall very happy with both of those boots. YMMV with these, I haven't tried this model.

does REI Outlet, online allow returns if the size is wrong? These would be great for my son, but he almost fits my 13's so I don't know if the 12's would be to small.

The asolo I had were narrow in the toe box. This was a while ago so I’m not sure if that’s changed. I don’t have wide feet.
