I am in the process of building 2 custom rifles. One is a 22 Creedmoor and the other is a 6 BR. In the beginning, I have been wanting to do a 22 Creed build for various applications but during the process of deciding which action and barrel to buy, I was hearing how great this 6 BR is and the unmatched accuracy. So, the next thing I know, I had ordered a barrel for a 6 BR. Well, I had already bought a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56 MOA reticle optic, but now that I’ve decided to double the build number, I’m looking to buy another optic.

I have been looking at the Arken EP-5 5-25x56 MOA reticle and I like it but wanted to get some real world opinions. I have owned 4 different Vortex scopes over the years but have heard a lot of good things about the Arken and thinking about giving one a try, especially since it’s in the same price range as the Strike Eagle.

Sorry for rambling on… I just wanted to give a clear picture of what mess I have going on 🤣

I am very limited in knowledge but have had good luck with Arken. The Japanese glass is good at the price but it’s definitely not great. They have all tracked and kept zero. With all the 25% codes they are worth a try in my opinion.

Zero retention is questionable based on the drop eval. That being said I have 2 SHV’s that I purchased before I found the slide. I have since moved them to 10/22. I like the features, hunting reticle are good enough to use and glass is decent. Price point is the best feature.

If you can wait a few weeks there should be a drop eval of a Crimson Trace Hardline Pro. They have similar features and price points. We just do not know if they will hold zero.
