Arizona Unit 22

Me and a buddy are going to Arizona for the otc mule deer hunt in January. We’re going to be hunting unit 22 up around the Payson area. Not looking for any spots or anything like that. Does anyone know a rough idea of what the weather would be like and any helpful tips. Trying to find out what type of clothing we’re going to need. It’s both of our first times ever going mule deer hunting. We’re both from Michigan and whitetail hunt.

Yep, in January you just never know, especially as crazy as the weather has been everywhere. Could be t-shirt weather, could be snow.

Like they said be ready for any and all weather. Usually hunt unit 19 and have had weather hit 9 degrees and in the afternoon I’m hunting in a light long sleeve. Have had it to where it’s frosty all day as well

Anyone been back into 22 since it burned?

I drive thru 22 on the 87 everytime I head to the Hopi Rez. As your traveling north majority of everything is closed on the east side of the highway. West side of highway is still open.
