Arizona Bull Elk , luck of the draw

My son and I were lucky enough to draw an eastern Arizona Bull elk tags. So I’m trying to do some additional research. We drew a tag that is north of the Springville and St. John that was recommended to us in 2019. Anyone familiar with the general area who might be willing to share some general info would be greatly appreciated . For us I doubt if we will be lucky enough to ever draw this again. Congrats on the tags! I’d get ahold of something like Huntin fool for a tag like that and let them know what unit you drew

If you’re going to be hunting north of Springerville and St. John’s you’ll be hunting flat desert country with PJ’s. I’ve never hunted elk right there but I’ve driven through it plenty on my way to western New Mexico. I hope you’ll be able to hunt south of those two towns as it holds more elk.

Another low density hunt. Hunt every single day all day long. Lots of checkerboard with a bunch of private out there, better get to scouting if you can. Good luck!
