I'm on the cusp of ordering one. I've been following it pretty closely. For the most part I think it is going to fix a lot of problems that aren't really problems. In my current rotation I am seeing sub .002" runout on seated bullets. I don't want it because I think it is going to fix some non existent issue, I just think it's a really impressive piece of engineering.

it is very impressive looking, and as such an impressive price point. I was considering getting it, justifying it with the "buy once, cry once" motto but one reservation I had was how it doesn't necessarily cam over it says it applies "spring tension". To me that makes me assume you may not get consistent force applied due to the variable resistance?

Maybe I'm over thinking an over-engineered press?

it is pretty rare to see a turret press used for benchrest accuracy but for hunting it would be nice to just spin the turret to change dies.

all a press does is push a case into a die-the die is the important part of the system. a press does not need to be tight to do that.

here is a statement from a press discussion on accurate shooter by shooters that demand accurate ammo for competition.


"We’ve discussed it here many times. Actually everytime somebody mentions a precision press. Let your dies do the work with no influence from the press. Think a press thats ran so many rounds thru it that you can see the ram rattling when you shake it. What most folks call 5 million rounds too many is what we call a good start on press fit "

Funny thing is, if I had 10 bucks for every rcbs partner press I have seen loading ammo at competitions by top shooters I could have went on my stone sheep hunt by now.

I ordered one. Will it produce better reloads than my Co-Ax or MEC Partner presses? Probably not but I like the innovation. To me, it combines the ease of changing dies on the Co-Ax and rigidity of the ram on the MEC.

Maybe i'm missing something here.
All those uber tight 'ZERO' play tolerances are awesome & all, but am I not right in thinking that the casing can still move around in a shell holder, pretty much negating all that guff???
Surely, once the shell is introduced into the die, its held to zero tolerance anyway. Anything that happens before or after the shell is inside the die body is meaningless. Most of the BR guys I know use ratty old RCBS, Lyman & Forster presses & they seem to do pretty damn well with 'em!

Seems like a very pretty way of flushing $1200 to me.

I got one and love it!! I was skeptical at first. It’s a beast. I have noticed less run out. It’s a pleasure to use and it’s made in America.

I've been thinking about it because it looks cool. I imagine wilson dies and wn arbor press will produce better ammo.....but ot looks cool.
