Are you interested in a Tikka T3X in .223 with a stainless steel, 16" factory-threaded, 1:8" twist barrel?

I’ll chime in here. Found this thread as I was exploring the same thought. I want a compact, stainless 5.56 hunting rig, as compact as possible. Would use an OTB suppressor. Howa vs Tikka landed me on Tikka. So yes, interested!

System isn’t letting me edit my post. Wanted to add that my preference would be the Superlight. I’m not so up on modding rifles, but I assume chopping a longer fluted barrel is not an option.

Not in the immediate future. I spoke with EuroOptic about this a couple of weeks ago and he says he’s still pushing for it. The demand is there, but we don’t know Tikka’s plans.
Problem is theyll want us to order several hundred of them at a rip - And for all the "when is tikka doing a 6cm?" questions I got, we only have 20 or so orders for stainless 6cms right now..
My play is to try and convince Beretta/Tikka that it makes sense as a standardized sku.

One angle that might help in talking with Tikka/Beretta, is that CZ just released the 600+ carbine in .223, with a threaded 18.5" barrel, on a mini action. Even with Tikka's uniform action, having a threaded 16" barrel would make it more of a direct competitor. CZ certainly sees a market for this form factor in .223. Tikka would only be yielding that market uncontested by ignoring it. But just make one sku with a threaded 16" barrel, and it's instant direct competitor.

They already do several 16" 223's that are threaded - the fight seems to be to get them to leave it raw stainless and attach it to a stainless receiver
