You lost me at 22 250 barrel life. I have one that will shoot sub 3" groups at 500 yards in 35 mph wind and that barrel is older than most people on here. Most of my rifles dont see 15 shots in any given year. Im too busy hunting and hiking around the mountains to go blow thousands of rounds at a range.

Half MOA in 35 mph wind without practicing is quite a feat. You are likely one of the best shooters to have ever lived.

I’m about to get a 20” cut down to 16” and rethreaded. If a 16” is coming out w/ 5/8x24 I could be interested considering one of the smiths I’m talking with isn’t sure he can thread it to that pitch. Another one says he can but isn’t local.

I’m very curious about this. I’m about to get a 20” barrel chopped and re-threaded to 16”. If one is coming at 16” from the factory soon I could be persuaded to buy an additional rifle instead of getting the one I have cut down… if the price is reasonable. And I repeat myself…

I spoke with Jake on Friday. This is probably going to happen, but the timeline isn’t in the immediate future. I asked whether it was likely that the new rifle would be here in time for my June S2H course and he said, “no.”

Yes, in fact I'm on the current pre-order at UM for one of the left-hand SS .223 Tikkas for my oldest son, and I intend to have that cut to 16" and threaded 1/2"x28 before it ships so we can use the B&T Tiger on it for hunting. I'd definitely get a matching RH version for myself and my younger son to use, again would prefer 1/2"x28 threads.

I will say though, what would be even cooler is a 16" factory Tikka in 6 ARC or 6 GT, 7 or 7.5 twist.

Sure would have been simpler for me. Bought same rifle in non stainless. Sent action for Nitriding, ordered stainless barrel with same contour, flared for 5/8-24. Aside from going with an improved chamber on the replacement, I’d have been miles ahead if I could have just bought in stainless,
