Are there any coolers out there that have longer ice retention than Yeti?

I have a freezer and generator that I bring and it stays in a box trailer. Works great. Leave generator on during day and turn it off at night. Looking for a big cooler for additional support.

Wrote this post because I am interested in ice retention comparison regardless of size though.

In response to OP's specific question, I think you will the answer to be, "no." I have seen several unofficial comparisons in real world environments and have yet to see one where another brand outperformed a Yeti.

Several links in this very thread would say "you're wrong, bro." ;)

I have a couple of canyons, can't remember the sizes but big enough for a couple boned out deer each. I love them! They handle the deer seasons well. I also usually do a couple of weeks in the NJ pine barrens each summer and my ice will last a seven day stretch in the 90 degree heat.

I have a pre Yeti lawsuit RTIC 65 and a Cordova 88. Both are great coolers and I have mastered the art of getting the most time out of them. Packed equally, chilled equally, used equally the Cordova will keep ice for about a day longer than the RTIC. I also have a 128q Cordova basecamp. It will keep right up with the smaller guys, but pre cooling it is key. I use an old school Costco Igloo that had the huge, domed lid. Once packed with ice, it takes 2 guys to move it . The old Igloo will run about a day behind the roto molded coolers.

Watched a review last year on several of the upper end coolers. The Cabelas came in a very very close second to Yeti.

Own multiple Yetis and several Frigid Rigids, ice retention on the latter is better at the cost of weight. Seals better, better insulation, only downside is additional weight. Frigids perform at the same level as the coffin box on a Freeman cat which is unbelievable at times.
$170 Walmart chest freezer has excellent cold retention if you have a way to freeze before traveling. Have hauled fish across the country, frozen at the start and plugging into power each night remained frozen over the trip.

A method used on long river trips is to put food you're eating last near the bottom and cover with water and freeze in a walk-in freezer. If you're just using for game you could do the same without the food at the bottom. Lasts longer than cubed or block ice.

Flated makes inflatable truck bed toppers, platforms, and rooftop cargo carriers. They are (relatively, of course, when compared to alternatives) lightweight, easy to install and remove, and foldable for easy storage while still being extremely durable. I'm guessing he is saying they have a cooler in the works? I didn't see anything about it on their website.
I got a giant Walmart special cooler about ten years ago. It will keep frozen jugs of water frozen days later in hot weather. I would hate to even guess what a Yeti cooler big enough for elk would cost. What ever it is isn’t worth it in my book.
Agreed, plus most roto molded coolers weight a ton empty when you get up around 100 plus quarts 180's worse.

Coolers and ice. In this day and age I can’t imagine a reason to use one. Soggy food, melting ice, water, condensation, warming contents… the list goes on.

Time to go electric, you won’t regret it. They look like this

Or many others but they all work so well you’ll happily forget using a cooler and ice.

I have a pre lawsuit RTIC 65 and a Yeti 65 both tan. I cant see any different in performance in the two coolers if all things are the same. Many times at whitetail camp they are setting side by side. I have used both for game, ice storage and as a food cooler. Over the years and hunts I cant tell any practical difference between the two other than the Yeti is just slightly better fit and finish but so slight as you coukd not tell the difference ce unless they are setting right next to each other. I got a great deal on the RTIC as i bought it during the settlement period of that lawsuit. I got a great deal on the Yeti as well on their return section of their website. I wouldn't care which one I grabbed if I only needed one. But I usually have both with me on hunts.

A big thing for me is durability of the latches and hinges. I think I have had the RTIC for 8 years and never replaced a piece of hardware. It gets a lot of use in Florida and Alabama. Coolers down this way get a good workout in the heat and sun. I have only had the Yeti for a few years.

Another thing that is important to me is that the coolers fit well together in the truck. I don't want any latches, hinges or handles sticking out from the sides or front to catch on other stuff or get sheared off in the bed as I am sliding it in and out. So a clean sided rectangle is best for my wants and needs.
