I volunteer at our schools 6th grade camp. The school received a grant for some new equipment, and they would like to buy several sets of bows and arrows. 99% of these kids have never picked up a bow in their life. Looking for some recommendations on what to get.

Thanks, Matt

IMO the best answer is a Genesis. That is the bow that has become the standard for NASP and archery in school programs. I think they are typically shot with fingers, and are also designed so that they can be worked on without specialized tools. For arrows you could probably find what nasp requires as well and get those. Depending on your grant they may be a little on the more expensive side vs cheap trad bows but the genesis is hard to beat. Also, I would be sure to at least get one left handed bow if your grant allows, don’t want the lefties to go overlooked!

Edit, here is the NASP required equipment

I think the Genesis may be too much of a good thing. These kids get 1 hour total to shoot these. that includes 5-10 minutes of instruction. This session is just an introduction to the sport. Were currently using fiberglass long bows.

Pretty much a replacement of what we have, don't know what we have since it's been a year.

Likely could get a NASP kit for pretty cheap, some states have programs to get them at a discount. I believe they are the Genesis bows.
