Illegal in the states I hunted when I wanted to do that. I did however use a 0 power lens one year in NM. I no longer want any glass anywhere near my bow when hunting and might get glare from early morning sun.

My wife hunts with a 2x lens in a spot hogg 2 pin. She never had a reflection be an issue. But if it's raining you better have a cover for it.

If you are elk hunting in September, most likely you'll experience rain storms.

No.

Generally figuring if using a lens, you will have a single pin.

If you set your sight, animal moves and you know you need 6 or 9 inches high/low, that gets harder to gauge.

Then you have the debris issue, glare, moisture etc.

Besides the rain, how did she like it?

She really likes it. And she does not archery elk hunt. Here in CA, it rarely rains in August. When she first got the sight, she had really poor vision. She had eye surgery and fixed it, but still prefers to keep the lens. So for her and how we hunt, it works just fine. This next year, she may hunt elk. If she does, I will have her shoot with and without the lens prior to going just to make sure nothing changes.
