Archery chances in October

Heading out on Monday in NW Montana....the few elk that are there typically are a little later to respond.

Any thoughts?

Anyone out there actually shoot an elk in October??

me a couple if you find the right pocket the action can still be solid till the last of the month. So many of my October bulls were bugling and or chasing cows.

It all depends on the cows. If a cow doesn't get bred in September, she'll come back into heat in October. I've ran in to this a few times in October and have always been successful. Mainly because I'm carrying a rifle...
