I'm going off someone else's recommendation for the glassing adapter. I haven't had it in the field yet but I've heard it's OK enough to avoid switching heads or running two tripods.

My rifle in an XLR chassis on the Anvil 30 feels great. Haven't shot from it yet but I did make a standing one shot kill past 550yds on a sheep with the Sirui VA5 head and my XLR chassis. This setup feels much better...

I’m going to get the RRS Anvil 30 .
What all do I need to make it work with my SLIK 883 & SRS Hunter Arca Rail .
Also will it work for glassing with my Kowa & NL 10x42 .
Are there any deals out there on the Anvil ?

An anvil connected only via stud can unscrew when using a lever we like a rifle. It’s not the best option for a non rrs tripod imo. Atleast not without modification or making it semi permanent with red loctite

I agree with @TK-421 a bag would be more usable. If done almost exactly what you’re going to do. Part of the beauty of the anvil is how it interfaces with their tripods.

I just ordered my Anvil 30 from Midway , I signed up for text messages & got 10% Off , $383.38 Ttl .
That was the least expensive of the dealers I checked .

I see that RRS has some adapter’s , I’m wondering if they’d work & be more secure ?
