Same size/weight/dimensions as OG?Yes. I have one that I need to meter. If it meters well, I believe that are going to do a limited run of them.

Sounds awesome.
How beneficial do you think a flow through can of some sort would be for this scenario?
You need to get in touch with @RealDaveCares4u on x or telegram and also read your state constitution. No gov can restrict your use of property even if they try to change the name from property to “Sbr”.If I live in 1 state but do 95% of my shooting just over the river in another making SBR a giant pain what would you recommend for similar use case (though lets call it 400ish yards) all purpose truck gun but in a 16 inch barrel. Not much from LMT in that length.
Have you checked out the new Ambient Arms stuff? Seems like a kind of a flow through design that uniquely keeps the can much cooler in temp, and they also claim quieter than traditional flow throughs. Kind of heavy for hunting use though I’d think?I do not like, or choose to use flown through cans. If a gun is gassed properly they are not needed, and they are loud. All of the US cans to date have had no issues in function on over gassed 10.5” AR’s.

Does this mean not excessive gas in the face, some/little, or on par with some of the flow-through cans? Or are you talking specifically about things like bolt wear/breakage in an overgassed, suppressed SBR?
Little to no gas to face in the AR’s I have used them on- 6/10.5/11.5/12.5” LMT, 10.5” and 14.5” Geissele URG-I, 11.5” Hodge, 18” MK12.
I’ve shot for year with normal cans, so I will pay more attention to it next time I shoot them.
Damn, that's pretty exciting. Especially with the durability and overall weight of the US cans so far.
Separately, with the new CTR I have coming, would you use UM direct rings on the dovetail and just remove the rail it comes with, or would you leave it and use pic rings? Looking for best long-term durability.
I leave the CTR rail and use pic rings.

Yeah man. So far they work fine on AR’s.
Ah, good to know, I'll pick up some pic rings then.
I've got a Polonium K on an 16" AR, mid gas, BRT gas tube on a proof barrel, and getting more gas back than I'd expect. Not bad, but more than I'd like. The way you phrased that makes me think the US .22 might be an improvement on blowback, with the US designs still being high durability. I've been planning on picking up a CGS Helios TI for lighter weight, lower round-count stuff, but now I'm wondering if it might be worth waiting on the US release.
US will also have a real gas gun can coming out. @B_Reynolds_AK shot the first proto with me back in November.
I'll look forward to hearing any details when they can be released. Is it just the Mk12 variant, another reflex, or normal configuration?
Would it be an option to do a 14.5 with a pin and weld HUB compatible brake? makes it not an SBR but you hide the extra length inside the suppressor for the most part.If I live in 1 state but do 95% of my shooting just over the river in another making SBR a giant pain what would you recommend for similar use case (though lets call it 400ish yards) all purpose truck gun but in a 16 inch barrel. Any recommendation for a Lower or any other part recommendations in general? Literally just got interested in building an AR this morning but I don’t know squat about who/what is good or who’s opinion to trust.Taken as what you wrote, and giving no background:
Shots range from home defense to 300 yards. Informed suggestions on:
- 5.56mm
- 12.5”
- A can that isn’t available yet
- NF NX8 1-8x with FC-DMx reticle
- 77gr TMK
- LMT SPECWAR
Or
- 5.56mm
- 14.5”
- AEM5 or Unknown Suppressor MK12, or- Unknown Suppressors OG65 or OG22- these last two don’t need a brake and collar, and are only 4” past the muzzle
- NF NX8 1-8x with FC-DMx reticle
- 77gr TMK
- LMT SPECWAR
