Well with the new Apple Watch coming out with gps, who here will be thinking about just using the watch instead of your phone? The watch will be a weight saver and now with gps will really be a game changer. I will definitely be picking one up and giving it a go.

I don't know about a "game changer" considering there are already plenty of wrist mounted GPS options out there, including those with mapping (e.g. Garmin Epix) that aren't tied to iOS.

But, if Gaia releases an apple watch friendly app, then I'm listening...

I hear that the battery on the Apple Watch sucks and needs to be charged daily. Of course that could be something that gets upgraded as well. Something to keep in mind regardless.

Watch 2 is supposed to have much improved battery life.

Not sure why Apple can't make part of the face a solar panel like my Citizen Eco Drive? That would be perfection.

This is true, my wife has one.

My Garmin Fenix 3 battery lasts for weeks and it can do everything I need for the outdoors that the watch 2 can. It is more expensive, but I would say also more rugged.
