Apple watch question-SOS

With prime deal prices, looking at a watch for my daughter. We live with very little cellular service.

Can any of the "GPS" models (se, 9, 10) transmit SOS with NO cell or wifi signal?

I’m not 100% but I believe only the latest and unreleased Ultra 3 has satellite capability.

I don't believe the apple watches have a way to do actual comms (rx, tx, fdd, tdd)) via satellite. My understanding is they would need their own SIM with cell service or be paired to an iPhone with cell service or wifi to be able to utilize SOS.

I could be incorrect as I know Apple products have been working on satellite comms recently.
