They may work or may not. It really depends on the passive protection they offer. Ie do they physically block the noise. The active noise cancellation is too slow for impulse noise. Also not repetitive so you can’t analyze the noise and then make anti noise. They do seal the ear so they may offer some protection.

I've had them for awhile now and updated them with all the hearing features when it became available. I have the protection enabled. I have not worn them in the field hunting or around gunfire. I did the tip fit test. They work well in the shop and noisy equipment rooms. I have worn them on hikes and evening walks to test what they sound like. You cannot hear as well as naked ears but you aren't deaf either while wearing them. A thing to get used to is the automatic switching as they switch if when you have conversation mode enabled. I leave them in Adaptive mode the most. To change you have to go into the settings to move from Transparency to Adaptive to Noise Cancellation. If you have conversation mode enabled it will automatically switch from Adaptive or NC to Transparency when they detect you speaking or someone speaking to you. It's annoying when watching and listening to a movie with them and you say something to someone, it'll cut the movie sound.

My wife got me a set to try out because I’m half dead and always say, “huh?”. Haven’t used them enough to form an opinion yet.
