Anything new for 6.8 western ?

Don’t know why browning went with a fast twist .270 win they are one of the architects of the 6.8 West. The 6,8 Western is what the 270 WSM could have been. The 270 win doesn’t have the powder space and in some rifles the magazine COAL, to shoot the heavies. The 6.8 Western is one of the few cartridges out there that are designed to shoot the high BC, heavy for caliber modern bullets. The mono is an inferior bullet for longe range hunting. Should do its job well at medium range. Personally, with the elk I shot with a mono, didn’t do enough tissue damage to cause a massive blood loss. Although the elk went down on the first shot.

I appreciate the input. I'm not trying to debate calibers and twist rate, Im just inquiring about what people think and have experienced with the 155gr LRX and posted here because this bullet gets used in the 6.8 Western. I can interpolate bullet experience with the speeds I expect out of the .270Win. Would you have a stab at the speed/penetration/expansion that elk absorbed?

The shot on the elk 130 gr GMX 270 win. Leaving the muzzle at 3120. The shot was taken at almost exactly 200 yards broadside, head down, one foot foraward. Tucked it in just behind the shoulder and clipped both lungs before exit on the far side. Left a hole the size of a nickel which indicated that the petals were intact and peeled correctly. Just not large enough exit hole to cause the elk to bleed out quickly.
