GENERAL ETIQUETTE REGARDING POLITICS AND THEIR DISCUSSION
  1. Politics and their discussion by nature can result in heated arguments. It is important to remember to respect other people's opinions, even if they do not agree with you or line up to your political beliefs. They’re a two-edged sword. Sometimes staff and moderators like having that information available on those threads here on rokslide, other times we just wanna delete them. They seem to bring out the worst most times. Staff and mods have had discussions about completely banning political posts before, but for now, it is not against the rules.
  2. If you are here just to post on the political threads or start political threads only or push your agenda we are going to start helping you leave the site by permanent ban. (see the trolling definition)
  3. As a general rule of thumb, don't bother posting threads in which the subject matter is political and in no way shape or form related to hunting, fishing, public land, public land access, firearms, etc. There are plenty of other social media and forums for you to discuss such matters on, why litter this forum with them?
  4. Its refreshing to have a place where you aren't being constantly inundate with political rants, issues or crisis. The politics in this country have forced itself into every freaking corner of every day life. At Rokslide we want to talk hunting and take a break from the political echo chambers.

I was thinking his speech should have been more forward thinking......then I realized how the left AND the media called him a Nazi, threat to Democracy, trash etc and I think it was good for old Joe and Kamala to sit there and take their medicine!

That is the weirdest part to me. This is a political thread in it's title and content. And sure, that does seem to be in violation of the highlighted etiquette rules that you posted here. The mods cracked down, fair enough. But they did so in a strange way. The got rid of all the responses, but then left the thread up and open to be posted on again.

I’m cautiously optimistic for the short term - a few years or so, maybe even a decade.

I do not believe in political messiahs, and I do not believe Trump can make America great again in any permanent sense. I truly believe we’re headed for a national implosion at some point. But I do believe Trump can make America somewhat better again, at least for a while, and I’m thankful for the reprieve and the additional time to prepare.

I don’t want to be a pessimist, just a realist. So cautiously optimistic for the short term is it.

It’s a good day.

I really can't figure out what is so hard to understand about our rules. This place is not like any other forum BECAUSE of our rules.
What could be a civil and informative conversation almost always ends in personal attacks, slander and way off topic.
If you ever scratch your head about a thread being locked, go back and read it, then read our rules. It will no longer be a mystery.
Did all those comments seriously get deleted by mods? This place is about as bad as archerytalk anymore.

I can't see anything that was deleted or locked. Are you referring to another thread?
