Anyone using a dedicated load dev scope?

The biggest improvement I have found is finding a target that you can actually focus on a precise aiming point with. I mainly use orange stick on dots with triangles. I do have a fixed 10x swfa for checking scope issues and at times load development.

Don't get fixated on centering the target if your reticle is too big. You can frame it if your glass is sharp enough. Choose a quadrant and use the edges of the reticle if you need to. You're shooting to see the guns capability....you don't care where the group lands as long as it tells the story.

I started shooting 50y groups instead of doing more scope. My eyes are not good enough for seeing groups with 10x. Plus there's too much wind where I normally shoot to get meaningful 100y data.

I have a tig tango 6x24 in a adm recon qd just for this purpose. Was using a vortex diamondback tactical 4x16 but the center is open in the reticle & spotting 223 bullet holes, the added zoom helps.

lol no.

Why would I make a load for a rifle using anything other than what I intended to use on the rifle scope wise???

Right when I think rokslide can’t be any more wild….BOOM. I guess it is the middle of winter though.

I swapped a swfa fixed 6 onto a 270 to try and trouble shoot issues. Shot it today at a 1x1 orange square. Could see an orange quadrant at each corner around the reticle. Thats sufficiently precise for me.

Is it optimally precise? I dont know. Its precise enough to answer any question I have though.
