They are excellent. Stiff is a personal evaluation, they are stiff enough to be an excellent mountain boot w/60lb pack. Steep and deep terrain, no problem.
I have a little experience with them. Pretty much help true to the threads I read about them on here. Not a bad mountain boot but for my personal preference it didnt have as much ankle support that I look for. Maybe if I would have tightened up the laces a little more it could have corrected it but with only had two laces on the top portion of the boot...I prefer three if I'm going to be packing in and out. Also had these boots on a January deer hunt, and feet got fairly cold when sitting and glassing. To answer your original question, they have a little stiffness but not over the top, all a round pretty good boot depending what you're wanting to do with it.
On a side note I saw on another thread that you had a couple used set of 10's you may be willing to sell? Mind me asking what they are? Thank you
I have a pair and use them for archery hunting. For me, they have good ankle support and I often have to side hill a lot and they work well for that also. I have carried out loads of 60-80 pounds on the Camino's without issue. I also have a pair of Kayland cross mountain gtx which are light weight and are a cross between a backpacking boot and mountaineering boot. The kayland's have a stiffer sole than the Camino's. Both serve me well. If you need stiff then the Camino's may not be your best choice, if you want a "moderate stiff" boot then they will be the ticket.
Camino falls right between the Tibet and the Renegade. Less stiff and bulkier than the Tibet with a narrower last. Not nearly as soft as the renegade. Good solid boot if they fit your feet.
