Was going to buy some fresh strings and saw these as an option.. I don't really want to run speed nocks, but apparently these double as silencers? I've used Vapor Trail bats the last 2 years and have been happy with them..

Anyone have any experience with them? I wonder how quiet they are compared to my bats?

Never used them... but just wondered, why no speed nocks? Seems like if you can pick up 7 fps by adding a few pieces of brass its a no brainer. Plus if you get them right, you can take the string off and shrink wrap them and its a very professional look.

serve two different purposes... one to make quiet, the other to add speed. sometimes you can get lucky and kill 2 birds with one stone, but i typically get the string dampeners in, then add nocks to top and bottom playing with the distace from the cam and number of them to get the best speed. They always end up to close to the cam to use a dampener than goes in the string. Sometimes if you use a cat wisker type you can mount them close enough to use the dampener as the speed nock.

you can cheat sometimes and search for your specific bow model on Archery talk and someone will get you close. Its is pretty amazing to see what a few grains on the string will do

Honestly I rarely run any string silencers on most bows these days...With a heavy arrow and a modern bows that are well tuned most of the time you don't need any silencers on the string....I stick with speed nocks, the sleeves look clean but there have been issues with them coming apart as well as sliding up and down the serving, and that defeats the purpose honestly.

I use them on a couple of bows with good results. Never had any come apart. They do slide but all you need to do is put a dab of glue under them on your serving and they will lock in.

I am switching to the TPU speed sleeves though. They are rubber also but they are weighted to match speed nocks and are way more resilient. I am putting them on all my customers strings that I am building now. Very simple and they lock into place very well.
